Healthcare Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision & Rx

 

Carnegie is committed to providing high-quality benefits to serve the diverse and changing needs of the Carnegie community. 

Eligible employees may elect coverage as a new hire, after a life-event change (e.g., marriage, divorce, birth of a child, etc.), or during annual open enrollment. All plans offered through Carnegie provide care through a network of doctors, dentists, hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, and other providers. The Aetna Choice network is large and comprehensive. It consists of primary care physicians and specialists ranging from cardiologists, podiatrists, and OB/GYNs to oncologists, ophthalmologists, and orthopedists. Facilities such as hospitals, urgent care centers, and labs also belong to the network.

Aetna Medical Plan Options:

Platinum Plus Plan - Pay a higher monthly premium with lower out of pocket costs You also pay a lower deductible and co-pay for in-network services.

Platinum Plan - Pay a lower monthly premium-with great protection. Here you pay modest copays for most services and will pay the deductible and co-insurances for more expensive services like hospitalizations and MRI's.

Gold Plan - This is a High Deductible Plan (HDP) where you pay the lowest monthly premium in exchange for higher out-of-pocket costs. You can manage your healthcare expenses through a triple-tax advantaged Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or a Limited Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

Aetna Pharmacy

Prescription Drug Benefits are offered under Express Scripts. When you enroll in one of the Aetna medical plan options, you’ll automatically have prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts. You will receive a prescription drug card, separate from your medical ID card. This program uses a “four-tier” co-payment approach to covered drugs and is designed to control cost for you and the plan.

 

J-1 Exchange Visitors Medical Plan Option:Cigna logo

Cigna Global - Medical Coverage, Pharmacy benefits are included in this plan. Telehealth services and claim forms available in 10 languages. Submit & view claims electronically via the Cigna Envoy mobile app. Insurance coverage through Cigna Global is uniquely  positioned to provide affordable insurance to our J-1 Exchange Visitors, and meets the federal requirements for coverage, including expenses associated with medical evacuation and repatriation of remains.

Cigna Pharmacy

When you enroll in the Cigna medical plan, you’ll automatically have prescription drug coverage. Your Cigna Global card is also your pharmacy card. You will have coverage both inside and outside the U.S. and home delivery is available to f 90-day supplies of medication. 

Life, Disability, Accident & Critical Care Insurance

The Standard will manage Carnegie's Group and Voluntary Life Insurance, AD&D and Critical, and Long-Term Disability Insurance options, replacing coverages previously provided by Guardian Insurance. All employer paid insurance, i.e., Life, AD&D and LTD is available at no additional cost to you. Critical Care is available to eligible employees who may elect coverage at their cost (see "Elective Benefits" below). Eligible employees can elect as a new hire, after a life-event change (e.g., marriage, divorce, birth of a child, etc.), or during annual open enrollment.

Eligible employees may elect coverage at their cost as a new hire, or during annual open enrollment. MetLife Legal Plan offers employees convenient and affordable access to a highly qualified network of attorneys for everyday personal legal matters. MetLaw Legal Plan provides fully covered legal advice and representation for most personal legal matters (employment and business-related matters are excluded from coverage).

Carnegie provides this employee-paid benefit to help protect your family’s financial security in the event of illness, serious injury. Eligible regular employees may elect coverage at their cost as a new hire, or during annual open enrollment.

The Standard

Critical Illness - Provides benefits when diagnosed with a major illness or disease. Critical illness insurance provides employees an affordable protection from the financial hardship that may accompany a critical illness. If you  suffer a critical illness such as cancer, heart attack, or stroke, your financial burden may include many expenses not covered by medical insurance. The cash benefit can be used any way the employee wishes—from paying  medical copays and deductibles, to covering everyday expenses.

Accident Insurance - Accident insurance provides benefits when you are injured or sick. Benefits are paid directly to you and in conjunction with coverage by your medical provider. Supplemental accident insurance is an affordable way for you to protect yourself from costs that aren’t covered by these more traditional plans.

We have several general healthcare resources available to benefit eligible employees at no additional cost. In addition to services such as Health Advocate and Teledoc, we've offer a number of award-winning services with your well-being in mind:

  • TalkSpace. Accessible 24/7, allows users access to professional, personal and confidential online therapy with a series of three (3) prepaid sessions.
  • BurnAlong. Provides you with access to fitness and health & wellness programs ranging form one week to 60 days. Partners with local gyms, studios, instructors and wellness professionals.
  • GreenSpring Financial Services. Advisors can help you create a financial roadmap to chart the best route to achieve your financial goals. You'll have on-demand access to a team of Certified Financial Planners and online resources including access to 200+ videos, webinars and articles.

Carnegie provided resources through our Employee Assistance Program or EAP, managed by Optum. The Optum EAP offers confidential support for managing the stressors in your life--workplace concerns, anxiety & depression, parenting and family needs, sleep issues, substance abuse...and more.
